The Warrior Group Revealed
The third episode ended with a major cliffhanger and presented the initial group of heroes who will branch out from the central cast to embark on their own adventure, distinct from the additional parties.
This warrior group features Teor (portrayed by Travis), the agile character (Laura), Tyranny (Whitney Moore), the cleric (the player), and Kattigan (the actor).
The Reason for Division
Considering an extensive roster, it was evident from the outset that having everyone at a single group would be unfeasible.
Hence, the first four episodes of this story serve as an Introduction, weaving together the individual narratives before branching into three smaller tables: Soldiers, Planners, and Questers.
Characteristics of the Soldiers Table
Per Brennan Lee Mulligan, the Soldiers table is for players who prefer a typically action-packed combat and conflict-driven narrative style where peaceful solutions are rare.
At first glance, characters like the hesitant healer Wicander Halovar might appear out of place, but the developments of the third episode show why these particular heroes are perfectly fit for the Soldiers table.
Motivations for Departure
To begin with, the party has a clear idea where to proceed after a violent initial meeting with the enemy group.
An old friend of Thjazi Fang—whose death started the story’s plot—manipulated The Crow Keepers for his own means, breaking into Thjazi’s hideout, striking the rogue, and swiping all the enchanted items to auction.
Casimir then settled his liabilities and escaped to a secure base in the northern region, above the urban center, with Cyd Pridesire close behind.
Personal Motivations
Moreover, each adventurer has a individual motive to depart Dol-Makjar:
- The agile hero, as the companion and trusted friend, desires retribution.
- Kattigan knows the region and cautions that it is a nasty place.
- The warrior and The healer, having resisted his relatives’ demands to execute the target and instead freed him, have nowhere else to go.
- Yet, their position as key figures in House Halovar could assist the team enter places they usually can’t.
- Moreover, Teor vowed a unbreakable promise to The savior for his deliverance and will now accompany him anywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
In addition, all of them are wanted by the powers that rule Dol-Makjar for a multiple motives, making staying in the city no longer safe:
- The agile adventurer and Kattigan are recognized lawbreakers.
- The strong figure and Wicander turned against the powerful family and the army of fiends they are aligned with.
- The fighter is wanted dead by the family.
This results in them little choice but to head to the northern region in quest for the traitor.
